One Room Challenge!

Hello!  I’ve decided to join the One Room Challenge! This will be my first time participating and I’m really excited to be joining along with other bloggers and also following the featured talented design bloggers over at Calling It Home!  This challenge comes at the perfect time because we are starting from scratch on our laundry room remodel and I also have been wanting to get my blog going on a regular basis!  It’s definitely a win/win!

A bit about our laundry room…it’s a windowless room in a small corner of our basement.  When we moved into home, it was an unfinished room with concrete floors and studs.  It’s a project that has been pushed until the back burner until now.  A family friend helped us drywall the room and my husband, an electrician in another lifetime, installed recessed lighting to brighten up the room.  We started tiling the room this past weekend, and I’m hoping that this coming weekend we can get that finished up.  Other than the drywall, recessed lighting, and tile, our laundry machines we bought last year, and a refrigerator that we use to hold extra drinks and food, this room is a blank space ready to become a fabulous finished space!  I’m really wishing we had natural light in this space but to offset the lack of natural light, I’m keeping the room as bright and minimal as I can with bright pops of color.  I’m also challenging myself to use only accessorize with items found thrifting or on a discount!  Thanks for following along our room makeover journey in the weeks ahead! 🙂

Linking up to Week 1!  Here is what we’re starting with!  Definitely pardon our dust 🙂

I love the recessed lighting and completely drywalled ceiling and walls after living with an unfinished room for 2 years!

Finishing the tiling this upcoming weekend is a priority!

Planning on adding lower cabinetry and upper shelves!  Still not set on finishes at this point in time, but will definitely depend on our meager budget.(Read spend as little as we can without compromising quality!)
